“Inspired by the beauty of the Puget Sound and my love of the music of West Africa, British Isles, and Asia, I weave an aural tapestry of patterns, images, melodic phrases that adds beauty to our world. These instruments I hand craft with original innovative designs and materials. The Journey began with Djembe drum which guided me to the Koran ad Ngoni. The Music of Mali and Senagal are strong influences as well as the emerging Afro Celtic blendings. I believe I have lineage that extends back to Mongolia as I also love their folk music. Recently I have been listening to the traditional music played on the Burmese Harp and hear all kinds of connections and overlays. The Harp seems to be one of our oldest universal instruments. Enjoy, and think of me if you wish to enhance your special celebrations and ceremonies.” -John Tang (MoMo)
